Location

West Part Lot 4, Concession 3, Geographic Township of Devitt, Municipal Township of Mattice-Val Coté, District of Cochrane, rectangular in shape, 78 acres/31.6 hectares, having a frontage of approximately 864 feet or .164 mile (263 metres) along the road between Concessions 2 and 3 at the south, and a depth of approximately 3960 feet or .75 mile (1207 metres).

Access

From the hamlet of Mattice on Highway 11 proceed westerly about 500 metres past the bridge over the Missinaibi River to the intersection with Old Indian Burial Site Rd. Turn left (south) and continue about 1.5 km to the point where the road between Concessions 2 and 3 intersects. Turn right (west) and continue about 1.2 km to the southeast corner of the property.

Terrain & Vegetation

The property is about 75% wooded, with the relatively clear area being adjacent to the road. There are no dwellings or other structures. The terrain is flat and the middle part is marshy, being occupied by a flooded part of the Creek à Dallaire. Most of the terrain in the overall area is flat with numerous wetlands, creeks, and small lakes.

Crown Land

The lands immediately north, south, east and northwest of the property are privately held, but the lands to the west, and the immediate southwest are all parts of a vast continuous tract of Crown Land extending for many thousands of square kilometres, all the way to James Bay in the north.
